Anyone else had this traight ? I don't want to post setup as I am just asking to see if anyone else had or has removed this and what adjustments were made to minimise it with what effect.

It seemed to start when i put a spool in ? !!! Think i am taking it out ;)

Other than that its based around kit setup for rubber indoor.

I've had a problem with off power oversteer for a couple of weeks, not just at low speed, although it was worse turning into a tighter corner (hairpin) I also run Rubber on Carpet. Nothing to do with a Spool, but....turned out to be the rear diff to tight (I forgot I had changed the thrust bearing  ) Found out after 6 practice runs, 4 heats, and 1 final, making one change - to no avail - in between each run  .......Stupid Sport

You say you had forgot ... but i am confused this diff is not the standard fk 05 diffs ;) seperate for that reason while i was waiting on parts. Scrounged from my other xray in the mean time. I thought tightening the rear diff gave stability into the corners oversteer out :?

I ended up with violet springs fr/white rr and a 1mm roll bar to stop it which helped ... ?

SS do you mean it was locking like a broken thrust bearing ? Or not set properly afterwards (too tight or too loose)

Since you talk about low speed off power oversteer I doubt it has anything to do with your diff setting although a looser diff might help a bit. More likely is that the front of your car does not have enough chassis roll at low speeds causing the front to have too much grip. Try angling your front dampers a bit more (i.e. move top inward) to reduce low speed steering. Also try increasing the rear downstop 1mm.

Or ...
just as a thought check your spur / mid / diff pulleys. Binding there will result in oversteer.

Not from my own experience off-course

Not exactly.

More chassis roll absorbs energy preventing the car to loose traction if the cornering forces exceed the resistance forces generated by the tires. So in that sense traction is indeed increased.

HOWEVER, more chassis roll means more weight transfer to the outside tires. Since more weight is on the outside tire it will generate a bigger resistance force. Sofar so good, but since the weight on the inside wheel is reduced the inside tire will generate less resistance. The problem is that the reduction on the inside tire is allways bigger than the increase on the outside tire. Whence the overall resistance force that can be generated by the front tires is decreased!

This is why it is allways a balancing act between making the car as stiff as possible (less chassis roll) to maximise the theoretical maximum grip and absorbing energy to prevent the cornering force applied to the tires to exceed that same maximum grip level.

Col

I know this is obvious, but, if it started when the spool went in, take it out!

Is it an FK05?
