Never ran a P5, but you will always have problems on an open track with a low-end motor getting the performance you want. It's simply the wrong combination. Why not try gearing up to a 14t clutch bell? The P5 should easily handle it. Don't forget that nitro motors are real engines...you can gain lots of mileage by rolling in/out of the throttle, instead of punching it all the time.
Your best bet is to pop in a carb restrictor. I get 10+ minutes from my Omega Picco P7R with a 9mm restrictor. Haven't experimented with the 8mm or 7mm, but I'd bet I could easily squeeze 15 minutes with the 7mm restrictor. I bet if I ran wide open the whole track I wouldn't get any better mileage than you, though. Pipe is an Ofna 063...great for the price but I'd definitely prefer an O.S.
