Unfortunately that's not true. Not sure why, but the same weight rating can still mean a different viscosity between manufacturors. I know this was discussed before in this thread:

I've found that Trinity 50wt is close to Xray 30wt. The difference is that as you close more piston holes, the difference in dampening with the Trinity oil will be less of a change than the difference with the Xray oil. Trinity 70wt with all holes open is close to Xray 30wt with only one hole open.

I knew I would run out so I ordered an extra bottle of XRAY 30,40,50, just to be on the safe side. I would hate to put another brand oil in my shocks one time and not the other. Car might act a little weird. Would be nice though if someone could do a test on the diffrent oil's on the market to see was comparable. Just read an article in one of the magazines where they did a test on springs also to see how each one stacked up. Some of the springs they tested out of the package that said 35 was sometimes off by 3lbs. Now I know why my other car was pushing right and hooking left :shock:
