XRAY - Model racing cars

Some of the top xray drivers are putting a 2mm spacer at the front of the front wishbones/bulkheads.
Why are they doing this?
also do you re-set the toe in back to 0deg or do you leave it at 2mm toe out.

Actually 2mm is a lot, when inboard front toe-out is used it is normally about 1mm. Indeed overall toe-out is set as normal so if you normally run say 0.5 degrees toe-out that's what you set the car up with even when using inboard toe-out.

Inboard front toe-out can help to generate a bit more steering on corner entry and mid corner in tighter corners.

Actually at the moment I am not using it at all. With the FK04 we used it on tracks with tight corners that you come at with high speed to get a bit more initial turn in but on the FK05 the couple of times I tested I didn't feel a big difference.

MStrasnick: the only difference is that the foam shock tower has lower mounting positions for the shocks so you can still set a good ride height even with small foam tires.

Speedmaster: Adding spacers under the top link raises the roll center at that end of the car. This reduces chassis roll at that end of the car. Generally that will lead to less grip at that end. I.e. if you use a spacer at the front you get less steering and if you do so at the rear you get more steering (less rear traction).
