XRAY - Model racing cars

I'v used Associated Stealth diff lube in the past to good effect in all the diffs I have re-built.

Saying that tho, I have now run out so will also be watching the replies to this post with interest.....

I've used associated stealth lube on the rings but 'am looking for a good syn. grease for the thrust bearing. Any thoughts ?
Is the xray grease in the kit synthetic ?

For the thrust bearings, i use Mugen Super Grease (also used on my nitro car's centax thrust bearings). For the rings i use AE's stealth lube and it works great.

the clear stuff is a silicone based grease and the black grease is some "other" stuff mixed with graphite powder i think
the main purpose of the silicone grease is to prevent the diff rings from slipping while on power
when u use the black grewase on the diff rings then the diff will slip in most circumstances

perhaps one of the pro's will tell us more details

I`ve been around abit(19years) in this game & when i got my very first x- ray(FT) 2 months ago.i was not impressed with the diff lubrication at all, the thrust assembly was dry as a bone & not enough on the diff assembly, so i took them apart & rebuilt them to my standards & they have been the same condition for around 2 months using the car twice a week indoors & out mod & stock & still they are free & smooth & don`t slip, i have had most of the leading brands of car makers, i must say that the yokomo,associated,losi is by far much better then the stuff in the syringe from x-ray for the diff (silicon grease) & i use yokomo/associated black grease for the thrust race

I know this is a x-ray site & i`m going to get grief from Mr x-ray saying `there`s nothing wrong with our lube`,but i have 3 friends that got x-rays from the very start & they could`nt get there diffs as good as mine using your syringe stuff, then they used my way & hay presto they have lovely smoooooooth diffs,some racer spun my front axel & said `your using a one way` ah no `it`s a diff`, ` my god that`s is so free man`that is why i say this is a good thing to use

The yoke stuff is proberly the same as associated gear or vice a versa cause they work closely together.

Both XRay and Serpent offer excellent one-way bearing lube's. After cleaning your one-way use on drop of one-way lube on each one-way bearing and you're set.
