I have to agree that the spring maybe a little on the weak side , even though my pit man pushes the lid down to seal it i still have fuel leaking from the lid sometimes. Perhaps it dont help that the neck of the tank is not actually round when the seal on the lid is  if you look carefully it is an oval shape !..................why ?

I haven't noticed the lid letting out more fuel then what I am used to seeing. I will test this some in the following weeks, but so far my tanks seem great to me.

And if your splashing enough fuel to get on your clutch, then there is no tank that can save you, lol.

David,

You took what I said out of context, I think. It did happen, and it can happen when someone comes from a pit stop, the excess fuel flies toward the motor (you know, inertia?). All it takes is a couple drops. Anyways, I wasn't arguing that about the tank, my only suggestion is the spring and fuel line clips.

OK, OK, OK, OK

So I don't know what all the acusations are about and I'm not gonna single out the people who made them......BUT my question is what they are basing there analysis on. Lets Just start it off here

I own a
1) Xray XB8
2) Mugen MBX5
3) Kyosho mp777

All relatively new being able to count on one hand how many times each model has been used. So now to my analysis

For the accusation about the tank not sealing correctly. If your tank is not sealing properly, every model of the top of the line buggy tanks have an adjustable Oring that seals the tank. If you make the oring larger your seal will be better

For the accusations about the spring being weak. Heres the FACTS. If XB8 owners are having a problem with this (Which I am not), Then the other Mugen and Kyosho drivers must be having dissasterous problems. Which I doubt they are. But lets say the accusations are true. Here are the RESULTS....

For the Buggy with the strongest spring on the tank starting with number 1 and the weakest ending at number 3 here are the FACTS and your results for concerned XB8 owners who cant compare and are feeding into these accusations

1 - Strongest - Xray XB8
2 - Not as Strong - Kyosho mp777
3 - Weakest of 3 - Mugen MBX5

The Xray XB8 has the strongest spring out of the three tanks. As the 777 comes in second with almost as much spring but not quite as much but very similar. And the MBX5 tank has the weakest of the three springs.

Even though the spring strength differs from tank to tank. Each tank on each buggy does a good job of sealing and causes zero air leaks in the fuel line and has good suction. From my expeirience the little fuel that runs down the tank is from the top of the fuel tank cap getting wet with fuel when the buggy rattles and when you refuel and pop the tank back it pushes out the seal and stops once that excess fuel runs out.

As for my expeireince with the tanks. Out of the three. The MBX5 tank is the ONLY tank that needs the cap to be pushed down after refueling. The 777 tank and XB8 tank come to a full complete stop on thier own and need no assistance being pushed down any further. The Mugen tank will go down another 2 to 3 mm after closing on its own.

So There it is folks. Expecially for those people who don't have the other products to compare.

Out of the 3, the Xb8 tank has the strongest spring and doesn't need to be pushed down after fueling. I am happy with my tank and will do comparisons on any other parts that are brought up. I spend 15 minutes doing this test and my results are final and were made with no BIAS as I am a proud owner of each buggy. Thank You

From,
Michael
