Whow....have seen this first time. Whow, I can not imagine how you could break those diffs like this. How old were those diffs (how many runs they had)? Were the diffs already worn? Where did you have the diffs installed, front or rear? Did you use the plastic caps on the drive shafts all the time? How tight was the diff? As I understand you broke them on asphalt? What tires did you use, foam or rubber? Were the diffs already worn before?

If you look for the Spring Steel diff, please email to xray@rcamerica.com and they will advise you where to get it.
If you want just replacement, you can get these part numbers:

Tony V or Mario

Just a quick question, raced my FK05 for the first time today. The track I run at in Florida is a copy of the track for the Reedy race this year. It has a fairly long straight with a highspeed sweeper and then a techinical inside. Car was great, kept on freeing the car up from the basic rubber tire set up and it kept getting better. My question is if I move the A-arms to the lower holes on the front and the rear will this increase the side bite? Car was not loose or tight really just seemed like it could cut in the middle of the corner a litte better. On power it was great, could go anywhere on the track, but off power it just seemed to need more sidebite. Basic rubber tire set up in the car with the front shocks leaned in one hole and only 1mm shim in the rear for the toe in. Front diff is slightly tighter than the rear, cs 27 tires. Car is balanced perfectly, I did it on gram scales and it is perfect. 50/50 left to right, no tweak at all, and just slightly more front weight, only about a tenth of a percent. Thank you in advance. By the way finished second in the A, only cause the third place guy put me on my lid at the begining of the race, lost by 5 secs.

Just remembered, I also took out the shim under the camber link on the front spindle. That seem to really make the car turn in better.

Chris,

You will probably want to run the 20lb ( light blue springs ) in both the front and rear of the car, from my experience with the asphalt used in your area the surfance tends to be very abrasive and produces excelent grip.

If you have not yet picked up the multi diff you will probably want to head down to Fantasy World to pick one up before they run out. The super 1-way greatly improves the car's corner speed and response.

You may also want to increase your front droop to help with the on power steering, I generally run about 2-3mm in the front and almost always 3mm in the rear for the outdoor season.

If you are using the yokomo 138G or 139G premounts you may also want to try reducing your rear tow to 1.5 - 2mm per side.

If you need a baseline setup for an abrasive asphalt track with those tires shoot me a mail @ webmaster@fantasyworldhobbies.com and i'll set ya up.

Mark

Hi

glad that the faq's for the chassis mod for gp3700 is out.
but still nd to sand down abit, i've some ques

1. will the later batches of fk05 also require this mod for gp3700?
2. has xray consider the options of using battery trays like the new yokomo. different trays for different sizes of batteries?

thx
