Hi all. Just wanted to announce that I am the proud new owner of a FK'04. Ya I know the 05's are out, but this poor kit was just sittin at my LHS begging me to take it home and since I've never driven a TC before, I thought it might be a good jumping off point. (Truth is that they didn't have any more Losi's lol
![Embarassed ](./images/smilies/icon_redface.gif)
) Anyways, after running againts Losi's at my clubs Novice class and seeing how ALL the fast guys there run Xray's, I'm glad I bought the 04.
I had some problems with the HUGE amount of steering these things have! I used to run 2WD electric buggy's like 10 years ago and the transition has been a tough one! I routinely SLAM my car into the walls (not intentionally of course!

) but I am pleasantly surprised to find that my car can handle the abuse

I've wiped the left rear bearing 4 times so far because I couldn't slow down fast enough after the straightaway, but I'm proud to say that I don't do that anymore haha.
I was changing out one of these bearings at the pits one day while practicing when a thought dawned on me. Why didn't I play with my dual rate?!?! (or am I thinking about exponential steering??) When I used to run 2WD buggy's, I NEVER touched the dual rate because I never had to. I also had the slipper tightened all the way down because I liked to have full control of my car. Now it seems that I can't touch my steering wheel without slamming into the boards
So here's a question for all of you experienceed drivers... How much dual rate or exp steering do you use? I have a Futaba 3PK with the stock servo and an LRP SC. Battery config is the typical saddle style. I think I messed with my exp steering and put it to -65% and with that setup, I took 2nd in the Novice class at my club

Do you think that is too much?
Sorry for the long post, but I've been visiting this site waiting to log in for like a week now haha. Guess I just had a lot to say eh? Oh.. one of the racers there (ROAR Regional winner

told me that my diff was WAY too loose. I told him I didn't touch it out of the box and he just shrugged and adjusted it for me. Is that typical of the 04's? Anyways.. thanx in advance for your replies!
