I agree, but the stock springs already "push" the car at maximum height. So its a moot point to try to adjust ride height with the springs. Even the softer Atomics do the same from my experience. So until xray comes out with shorter springs that allow the use of adjustment via shock spring spacers.. This car more than anything is more like a 1/12th. And it does limit suspension travel.. Which on carpet >helps< more than hinders. It also allows adjustment of tweak, something even when xray does get some real shocks out will still need to be adjusted, and still allows for maximum suspension travel limit. Which is quite helpful because normally would would have to take the shock apart to put spacers inside of it to limit that maximum travel.

Now correct me if Im wrong, but is then the diff housing "off" the chassis a bit? Your talking about the lower wishbones right? Unless your doing this to the upper ones to adjust roll center? Am I misunderstanding your spacers? Now, the bottom of the diff housing has this big gaping hole in it. So whats to stop carpet and foam dust to get into it from underneath? The only thing I can think of is to tape that hole shut.

Nelly, Im curious on the medium atomics.. The atomics almost seem too stiff especially the medium and stiff in that the upperwishbone shock mount will flex under load (giving its flexable material) giving a inconsistent feel. Thats why the penguin chassis mounted the shocks where the rollbars would be.

Whats your opinion on that idea since you run your car so stiff?

Hi oXYnary.

How do you measure the 4.5 mm drop? I use the Hudy tool and do it from the bottom of the black "inner wheels". My experience is that the bottom of these wheels should be at level with the bottom of the chassis. On the Hudy tool it will measure arround 10 mm.

By the way - you are right about using the shims between the diff house and chassis to lower the car will cause dust coming in. But after racing on carpet with foam tires I've not experienced any problems.

/Peter

Hi

I found all of my problems went away when I fitted the Penguin shock towers. I use them plus Atomic Springs and it's now very stable.

thank you very much for your comments, to measure the drop I put the car with the weels on in a flat surface and with the hudy tool down the chassis i measure in 3mm, I just order the atomic springs and i change the rear toe in for 2.5 i hope this colud done it, thank you
