rear center drive shaft touching engine

my rear center shaft is just touching my P5 engine.
If I put black ink on the shaft it will rub off on the engine case.
A little too close for comfort.

has anyone had to grind a little bit of the case corner by the bolt because of this?

If you are using a 13 tooth bell then this should not be happening, it might be a good idea to make sure your engine is sitting square in the car. If its not you will have problems with the mesh between the bell and main gear.

Let me guess Auto 2 . Its a REX P5??? They have Wider case mounts than the Nova and Top P5. They have those little heatsink cuts in the mounts. And they stick out like 2 mm more. I have heard that people with The REX engines have shaved down the mounts, so your not the first person to have this problem. If its possible move the engine away from the shaft very slighty and it shouldn;t be a problem with the mesh. As long as theres still lash it doesn't have to be 100% perpindicular to the spur

it might depend on how much you shim the flywheel also. i have the rex but i got the rmv mount so it doesnt touch. w/my stock bell i had to shim it quite a bit and that moves the motor back when you mount it. now i use the vented ofna (i know

) bell and it only takes 1 shim behind the flywheel.

I have a fioroni turbo slider on it right now. yes it is a REX.

I think simple solution is keep mesh as I like it and warm up the dremel.

It is nice to have a place like this where you can ask first cause it is very hard to dremel something back on.LOL!

anyone going to enfield ( rc madness) next weekend? I'm 50 percent going so far.

Why will The Off road outdoor track be open then???????????? When does the track open for practice as I am able to take a day of next week and would like to practice??? And yeah I have heard of people dremmeling the mount on the Rex before so don't be scuuured

indoor every fri night and sunday. electric only right now

may 1 is opening day outside.

outdoor track hasn't been touched since last race last year and is real WET with all this rain. if it drys up with an hour clean up we can practice no problem on sunday.

go up 87( thruway) to exit 16(i think) for rt 17. about 47 miles.
I used to work in co-op city in the bronx and it took me 50 minutes with no traffic.
