FK'05 Setup

For the rear diff the FK05 has the bearing holders sitting in some plastic inserts. Two sets of these are provided. One set puts the bearing holder at one end which can be put at the bottom or at the top (low and high position). The other set has the bearing holder sitting in the middle.

Downstops control weight transfer. The prime effect is on front-to-rear (on power) and rear-to-front (off power) weight transfer. Running more downstop (less droop!) at the rear for instance will reduce the weight transfer towards the front when you go off power or brake to enter a corner. Net result is less weight on the front wheels and thus less grip on the front.

The other effect is side to side weight transfer. More downstop on one side will reduce weight transfer to the other side during cornering effectively reducing chassis roll.

i ran my car for the first time yesterday at sneterton, nice dry tarmac on a technical layout.
i built the kit as per the tarmac setup on here, after 8 runs and a few changes the car was well balanced, easy to drive and turning very quick lap times.
as for body shell choice the stratus 2.0 was the best bet, good on and off power steering and good high speed stability.

I have just got back from running my FK'05 seriously for the 1st time and it was amazingly quick, the only problem I was having was grip roll, lots and lots of grip roll :shock:

what sort of thing should i be doing set-up wise to get rid of this?

Running it wednesday and spent the weekend getting it all sorted, such a big run up to just using it is a bad sign (something will go wrong)

Gone for the alfa 2.0, least the car looks good atm

Its running the Kit setup so i will progress from there.
