turnbuckles discussion

it finally happened to me today too :roll:

i had done a few rough meetings with the stock turnbuckles in place with No problems, but then i thought i'd better fit the Kyosho Gold just to be on the safe side & on the second lap of the warmup today SNAP! one broken gold turnbuckle :!:

got the broken bit out & refitted the kit parts, was OK most of the day until the 4th lap of the final until...you gussed it SNAP one of the kit buckles broke :roll:

i'm going to try a pair of the standard Kyosho steel turnbuckles ( not the hardened gold ones) as hopefully not being hardened it will bend rather than break at least giving me the chance to finish the race :wink:

apart from that the car was really good as it always is :wink:

i just gotta work on my bad driving now i suppose :roll:

I dont think the track were the problem,i think when you have a few hard landings this is stressing the turnbuckle then finally it breaks,as i have been running those kit turnbuckles since i got the car and have probably done about 10 club meetings plus holland and now slough

Broke my first this past weekend also. managed to get 3 1/2 gallons on the stock ones. Barely clipped the wall and it snapped. Good thing for back-ups.

Why are these turnbuckles breaking? Something must be stressing the heck out of these!! I really dont hear or see any other manuf car doing this!!!

at least its not like my old K-car

you take a hit w/it and youd be fixing the whole front end and not to mention messing w/ those c-clips :cry:
