We (Swiss-RC) received our FK'05 yesterday (Monday 21) from the Swiss distributor.

I build one car with one of my team drivers, and made a complete review. Here is the url:
The report is in french (sorry), but I think everybody can understand the pictures and I think that may bring some informations to customers.

We'll probably test the FK'05 tomorrow at CRF (2004 Carpet World Cup track), where we usually have race or training. So we have a good basis and knowledge with the FK 2004, and could well start with the new car. May be Arnaud Buffat (5th at the first round of Swiss Championship) and me will go to a Grand Prix this week-end to test the car in race conditions.

Hi Jonnyaird,

Using shims under the steeringlinks only effects the bumpsteer.
Most guys use 3mm. The ackermann only changes when mounting the steeringlink on the steeringblock in both positions. With the new FK05 you also can change the ackermann on the servo saver, front or back.

Just play with it and you will notice the differents. Normally for rubber tyres I use steering block hole 2 and the servo saver in the back.
It's also depanding on your driving style, aggressive or smooth?

The foam shocktower is a bit lower then the standard one.
This because to get the ride height you need. So the holes in the shocktower to mount the shock are lower. The camber link holes are same as the standard one. I used hole nr. 2

The Foam shock toer lets you run smaller diameter tires...

the funny part is.that unless you cut the tires WAY down..you have trouble getting ride height with the foam tower (car is too high)...

The foam tower also allows you to mount the body a bit lower for club races

Not saying your wrong but i layed the foam tower over the new one the 05 and the holes do not line up? The new 05 tower the holes are in a square pattern and the foam tower the holes are in a triangle pattern? And i lined them up with the two holes you use to mount it into the bulkheads. The number 2 hole you say to use is inbetween 1 and 2 hole on the foam tower. Is there two differnt foam towers maybe? Thanks again for helping and fast replies!!

Got mine yesterday - assembly going smooth as did for all four that came before.

The only thing that blows me away is... <rant on> :evil: NO BATTERY STRAP!!!

I knew this before I bought it of course, but REALLY!

I know it's 'fashionable' to use tape, as the world champ car would have you believe, but XRAY markets itself as the 'luxury' touring car. If I bought a new Mercedes Benz, and it came without cruise control, I would be pissed.

Give me the strap, AND cut the tape slots. Let me, the consumer, decide.

I have a question about the setup sheets. There is a box with a line going to the front and rear axles labeled "OFFSET". The options are standard, +1 and -1. I was just wondering what this adjustment is. And also, any word yet on the optional .75 suspension holders, or are these going to be a "Team only" item?
