Hello

I'm propably going to buy new xb4'17. Seems like it's made for high grip surfaces like eos carpet. Here in Finland we race on low to medium grip clay tracks in summer. I think pretty close to 2016 euros track grip level. What parts you think is needed for those conditions?

Valtteri Eklund

Hi. Thanks for your answer

When there is lot of option parts available. I tried to say that parts that are included in the kit are chosen for high grip conditions or do you disagree?
Mostly I was thinking about plastic parts. Seems like lot of parts that are included are "hard", but then there is "medium" option available. When thinking about xb2 dirt version has medium plastics and carpet version has hard plastics. Is it same deal on 4wd?

On dirt we still most of times use all graphite parts.
4WD generation a lot of traction so you don´t need to run medium arms all time.
It´s mostly about personal setup. Somebody like Graphite arms somebody medium....
I think current XB4´17 is best for every surface!

Im having 2 problems with my xb4. I used Martin Bayers most recent setup. I dont have the 2 stripe hexes on fron or 3 stripe on the rear. 2 things were
an issue.

Tight carpet track, indoor, smooth. Medium traction.

1.) Car would lift inside rear tire when cornering.

2.) extremely easy to traction roll.

Only difference I noticed on the 17 setups were the 4mm spacer on aluminum hubs, I only had 2.

My 2016 car with same setup was VERY good on same track... I am unsure why the issues with the 17.... I checked the car over 2 times to be sure all is proper, and it is.

Thoughts?

Martin,
This is the setup im using. I applied to a 17 edition.
http://site.petitrc.com/setup/xray/Setu ... n20161220/

I am using stock wheels and hexes. All other settings are the same.
I glue the outside edge of front tire to prevent traction roll, also cut outside row of pins on rear.

Thank You

Scott

Hello

Then car is way to narrow. This is huge different. For Xray wheels you should run 3 slot for front and 4 slot for rear.
It will be other car

Noticing a trend in the use of 12 degree caster blocks on tight tracks. I'm always tinkering with the car to make it fastr.
Anybody have thoughts on why the change from the norm 9 degree on the 16 cars?

I use 12deg. only when traction is super high and with 9deg. my car traction roll.
Last week at Lyon GP we have to use minipin in front. Way to much traction.
12deg alu was perfect.

Is there a reason Bruno setup is locked from the last eos race?

I thing it was just wrong click. No point to lock his setup from public.
