XRAY - Model racing cars

Ok, I've never tried Moly. I'll have to see if we can get that here and give it a shot.

Went back to the track yesterday to test for the big meeting there next week.

This time I was running Open Mod so handling wasn't going to be the same anyway.
I managed to get more steering by a combination of things, front gear diff (2.5million) and 7k rear diff among them.
I also ended up with 1.5mm on the rear upper link.
I didn't change the front upper link as I raised the front wishbones slightly up and in (but still keeping sweep and anti-dive)

I used the steering plate which did help

Changed all shocks to PSS with 500 (which did make the car more stable without effect steering etc.
I was using Reflex Racing springs instead of the Xray (RSD Green (progressive) F and Light Blue (Linear) R). I normally find these springs a little more docile than Xray's progressives, which I think is better suited to Mod.

I also ended up running a Montech Nazda 4 bodyshell, which is the most aggressive body I have.

Running Mod instead of 13.5 this time, traction was more of an issue so I might try going back to low diffs.
I also want to try a 1.6mm top deck as well as a couple more of your suggestions.

For the big meeting they'll coat the track, so that might cure some of the traction issues.

When you say coat the track, what with? Have heard about sugar water and coke being used, want to try something on a local track as it's really slippy at the minute

Cool, glad some of the stuff helped. With topdecks, I feel that a stiff topdeck front to back is great for making forward traction, while it might not make as much side bite. The softer topdecks should usually make a little less forward bite, but will generate more side bite. Possibly raising the 2mm topdeck 1mm will help maintain some of the forward bite while increasing side bite.

Reading your set up the front eccentric blocks are both shown as the lower hole, yes arm sweep of 0.5mm as the eccentric blocks are 0.5 different apart in the width.
The way I understand anti dive is the front rear eccentric blocks need to be in higher hole than the front blocks so the front rear dot on the set sheet should be in the middle line if the front dot is in the bottom line.
To gain kick up the opposite is true in that the front eccentric block hole should be higher than rear front.
Or I am I missing something?
