What would any of you change to gain better initial steering?
From mid corner to exit my car is very good, but it seems to lack the initial turn in.
I have tried stiffer rear springs and thinner front roll bar etc. which has helped, but I'm always trying to eek out that little bit more.
I have also tried more aggressive bodyshells, but these just seem to make the rear less predictable instead of giving me more aggressive steering.
Would 50 or 52mm driveshafts at the front be preferable?

Do you have any suggestions?

Thanks
Skiddins

Indoors or out?

I was lucky enough to get a day of dry running outdoors and found the '14 to have shed loads of steering, loads more than the '13 did, but with the rear end still stable enough. That was on full kit setup with 2.7s all round.

Do you have a setup sheet for where you are at the moment?

Gear diff in the front is suppose to help initial,
Also the progressive springs but I believe u have tried those?
I've been testing with weigh and more weight forward helps initial turn in.
Depending on how far u wanna go but reducing ur castor gives more initial less mid n exit

how did you get on with this on sunday? last year when i ran the 13 at wlrc i had really good steering ,but discovered it right at the end of the meeting,on the front ff i ran 1mm but on the fr i ran 0.5mm and 50mm shafts incase of any bind, plus a 1mm shim under the fr,arm mounts were on the middle setting, ill try a revised version for the 14 at the btcc or clubmans

Try more droop. Especially if you running 6mm ride height.
You can also go down to 3.5mm on the rear hub. This gives a lot more turn in.
And maybe 2.5* rear toe if it's stable enough.

Skiddins, have you tried thicker front shock oil? That's my magic bullet when I want more initial steering without affecting anything else too much.

Skiddins have you tried the 1 piece rear suspension and the split blocks in the FR position yet?

Would a slightly wider front hex help turn in? 1mm more?
