Hi Alex.
If you were running the Ride Rex30 tyres at the same track where you made your Sorex setup for 28JB's, what would you change for the different tyres?

Are there any parts of the setup you would automatically change when going between those tyres?

Thanks
Skiddins

Good question Skiddins. I'm wondering this as well.

There a also 2 setups from Hagberg in the setup section on the Ride Rex 30 tires. (ETS round 1 and the charity race in Italy).
I tried them both, the neither one suits my track. The ETS setup is too aggressive and no stable in the chicane and fast, wide 180° corners.
The RC Landia (charity race) setup lacks a bit of turn in.

Our track was only open for 1 day in the past month, but on Sunday we have a clubrace. I hope I can find a good setup for the finals.

Hi Alex,

Why is anti dive better for the ride tires? I haven't run the sorex tires on the new car, but I guess they are more aggressive than the rides?

Morgoth or Alex etc. Do you have any suggestions for Ride Rex 30's on low grip carpet?

For instance, standard rear driveshafts or ECS etc.

It will be this venue but a different layout;

The tyres in the vid are Sorex 32JB's

I qualified 12th and my fastest lap that day was 0.4s off Elliott Harper, but the car was difficult to drive due to the low grip.

Damian don't forget that this time, it is going to be three consecutive days of racing. The grip should hopefully come up.

Hi Skiddins.

Here's what I tried last time during practice on our track: http://cl.ly/U0t2

I tried a geardiff and a spool and the spool was faster I think.
As for the springs, the 2.5 gave the best grip, but the car felt a little lazy. 2.7 springs made it sharper but a little harder to drive and the car has less traction. But my laps times increased with 0.1-0.2s. I think 2.6 springs are a good compromise.

I've tried anti dive on our track and it was shit. The car wouldn't turn anymore, but I bet it's great on high bite tracks.

I've been running the car mainly with the topdeck post and at the ETS I ran it without the post and with the layshaft screws again and the car was actually great.

I haven't run my car since the ETS anymore. It's open every 2 weeks, but last weekend there was a charity endurance race with 17.5t blinky motors and over 2 weeks it's the Tamiya cup. No more racing on my home track until the 25th of March :-(

Ok, we've started the meeting tonight (practice) and grip is already higher than expected.
Do you think the ETS round 2 setups would work or something else?

Grip roll is starting to become a problem already.

I started with Olly Jefferies Newbury setup, with the exception of kit rear driveshafts, 5.5 & 4.5 droop, and 2.5mil in the front diff and 3deg rear toe.
It's reached the point where the grip allows to be quite aggressive with the car and the lap times are starting to get slower due to the car stopping in the corners.

Thanks
Skiddins

Used some of the setup, found using the layshaft screws was slower.
Ended up using the centre post in the final round of quali which made the car feel more consitent in the corners.

Grip roll has been a problem for quite a few people but I think it's down to driving style, if you push too hard.

Tried 2.5deg rear toe but found it too inconsistent.

Have to remember to check tyre gluing every run as well.

RCracingtv.net will be showing the racing live tomorrow.

Skiddins
