XRAY - Model racing cars

Hi,

is Teamxray serious about not including a Body in the XB9E kit? And does it really makes sense to use the same chassis like the normal XB9? The 808e had its own chassis.

A bit disappointing...I have NEVER seen a 1/8 buggy delivered without body.

HI Bent,

yes, I got mine earlier today, already started building. No body. The guy from the shop was surprised, too. There is a *very* small hint in the XB9E suplementary sheet that the body (and pinion btw.) is not included, but no hint on which body will fit. I am not sure about the standard XB9 body because of the batteries. The 808-body did not fit on the 808e very well, too.

The good news: The motor position is way more to the front compared to the 808e. Due to the fact that the nitro chassis is being used, the diff position also is the same like with the nitro. I expect a huge improvement just due to the motor position. The longer drive shaft is now the one for the rear axle .

I expect a hint from Xray which body will fit and an explanation why the body is missing without any sign on the OUTSIDE of the box so that I may have been able to react and by a body while being at the shop.

No covers, but the lipo holder (new one! Finally!) covers about 90% of the unused openings.

Some news about the body:

The Proline Bulldog for the HB D812 which is recommended by Hudy/Xray does NOT fit. To wide, collides with the batteries and to long.

Xray is pissing of customers with that action.

Yes, I know about the differences with the bodies between elo and nitro. But I got the statement about the D812 proline from two different sources, both telling me that it's an information from hudy/xray.

Oh, btw, the 808e-body does not fit, too.

That's crappy that it doesn't come with a body and it pisses people off to buy a buggy that doesn't come with a body and no known body that will fit, I'm not trying to bad mouth xray but they are going down hill. They released the xt8 09 spec with the same body that did not fit the truck and they released the xb9 2013 with a body that did not fit and now a xb9e with out a body that is really poor business

The XB9E body is in production and should be available shortly. Meanwhile the 808E with some small modification around the battery area will fit.

Here some photos how standard 808E body fits with no modification on the XB9E when standard LiPo batteries are used. With the extra large battery pack which is larger a bit of the front of body might need modification.

the XB9E uses the axles from the '13 XB9, so theres one body post at the front and two at the rear. The picture makes me also wonder, as it is stated, that only in the front area modifications are need, but clearly the rear body post was modified too. Further more the picture shows clearly, that the 808e body is merly a loose fit - even with velcro pads.

There is an additional hole in the shock tower for the optional assembly of a body post in the middle. So you can choose, wheter you mount 1 in the middle or 2 body posts outside.
