Afternoon, can some one please help

I have recently built my new xb9 13 kit and have come across a problem, the body included in the kit (original xb9 shell) doesn't fit the new chassis dimensions correctly. The body needs to be wider to fit the new kit.

I am assuming everyone else is having a similar problem.

What is the solution Xray??

thank you

Mark

The XB9'13 is a little bit wider and therefore the XB9 body will need to be a little be stratched to fit on the side guards. This is standard.

There is already a small warning to the body information on web site.

There is no problem at all. The XB9'13 is a little bit wider. The XB9 body remains unchanged and therefore it must bit a little bit stratched. This will not affect performance, handling and reliability. This is how the team including Reno Savoya, Martin Bayer and everyone else has been running with no problems. The body survived even huge jumps and abusive handling at Dirt race and private testing in various US tracks. So no worries. The new optional low downforce body which works good on bumpy and damaged tracks is wider which means it will fit better the XB9'13 but then it will be loose on XB9.

Ive just finished my first XB9'13 build. Love the car, build was superb... But com'on Xray, that body shouldnt be in the kit. Its obviously way too narrow, the motor cutout has to intrude into the side pods, like Ive said in another post, it goes against everything Ive heard about Xrays great "fit and finish" that Ive paid a little bit more for.
Dont get me wrong, I love the car... It just feels like the body wasnt given the attention it deserved.

Well...I think it's not good enough that the shell doesn't fit, as almost all of us non sponsored buyers would expect, we pay a premium price and expect a shell that fits. And I think the point others are trying make is the same. I'm sure if a team driver was asked to race a shoe box he would, and not complain. :P :P And tell everyone it's wonderful...... now we have to pull out the sides to fit to the chassis, we never had that problem with the old xb9, so why should we not expect a shell that fits on the '13 in the same way? Please don't treat us like fools.

my thoughts....a bit harsh...maybe...but why fluff around with niceties when your peed off.

Thanks,

EDIT; don't cut your shell on the lower cut line until after you paint it (paint it all the way down past the cut line too) and you get the rest to fit; as you maybe a little short on the side guards.

No fuel tank clearance!!! and the hi speed needle now hangs outside the shell....

There are other options from For The Win and Bittydesign - maybe someone can comment on their fit on the '13 spec car? I'm still on a '12 spec and looking at aftermarket shell options as not impressed with the longevity of the standard shell - I cracked my 2nd one the 1st time I ran it - in exactly the same place as the original....

Ive gone the FTW '13 body shell to solve the issue Xray should have. Its a good fit and made from fairly thick lexan so seems pretty sturdy. Id recommend giving it a shot.

To those that have run the Two Xray shells did you notice a big difference in handling... I am going to get some and paint up to try..

Talking about the Two Xray shells standard and low down force...
