XRAY - Model racing cars

Hi,

I have always run my front and rear belt pretty loose to reduce as much friction as I could. I was wondering whether in stock racing it is better to run them tighter to get more drive off the corners?

I heard somewhere that this racer ran the rear belt loose and the front tight to get better forward traction off the corners?

I run the front tighter than the rear.
Remember, the front belt is nearly 4 times longer, so when you apply power the slack in the belts gets taken up.
I run the front tighter to try and make the slack get taken up evenly, or more from the front.

It can really help pull it out of the corners instead of driving off the rear which can make the car a bit looser.

Supposedly Paul LeMieux runs loose rear, tight front as well. Im just trying to get more pull off the corner so maybe I need to make the front tighter.

I'm 3 notches tighter at the front, and 3 notches looser at the rear

I'm 3 notches looser at the rear but only one notch tighter at the front so maybe i'll tighten the front up a bit, thanks!!

On my T3 012 I am kit on front and rear. I will tighten the front as and when the main belt loosens to maintain kit tightness. Recall a thread a couple of years ago where the XRAY team drivers recommended a "not tight" front belt.
