Is this a good thing?

Are there circumstances where the T4 could do with some modifications to make it work better for a specific circumstance? Its nice to have a car that will work well in most conditions, but I think alot of people (I know I would) would happily buy parts that change the car to make it suit specific conditions better.

I'm interested to hear what anyone has to say about these kind of mods, but I'm especially interested to hear what the Hudys and the team drivers who have designed and tested the car, have to say.

Don't agree with moving the motor outward for more roll, there are enough suspension changes you can make to get the car to roll.

i tested these shocktowers and they worked great! Laptimes went down cause of the simple fact we could run hpi springs.. on pretty much each car out there hpi and yokomo springs work great as also on the T4

the motor moving outwards gives more roll with having to sacrifice the way your suspension is setup..

sorry forgot to ad that im using lower spring retainers aswell.. (from Ame racing) In the front i can reach a minimum of 4 mm ride height and in the rear about 4,8 with Sorex and Ride tyres and hpi springs.

The hpi silver springs do fit the shocks, but they wouldnt give u the required ride height , now with these shocktowers they do.

The T4 is the result from long term testing under various conditions and all team drivers agreed on that the new shorter springs provided a better performance than the old, long ones. We have so many different hardnesses of the short springs, both linear and progressive versions, that there should always be possible to find a good shock/spring set-up. I don't see the necessity for this kind of mod.

It is an interesting mod however, to move the motor outwards. We have tested it many times, using 2-3mm of shims between the motor and motor mount. It does make the car roll more, which can be beneficial under certain conditions, for example, low traction. The car will have more roll, and be more difficult to drive. But the mod can help to provide more cornerspeed-

Its worth a try though. Its well known that the different spring brands all have their own characteristics despite the calculated rates being very close. We are also racing, every 1/10 is worth it
