I have built my gear diff with just the paper gasket, and filled it as per instructions to 9.2 grams in weight. Im wondering is this to much oil ?? mine leaks between the two diff halves.

Did you bother using the O-ring?

After the first build I stopped using it, just using the gasket, and it doesn't leak.

No I dont use the O ring, My main thought is that I may be over filling it ? But like I said above Im only filling it to 9.2 grams total weight for that diff halve asper build manual. Skiddins do you weigh your diff while building it or just go by eye ??

Seem to recall using scales, but I've never had a problem with leaking.

Have you lined up the notch in one half with the grove in the other?

Maybe you have put too much oil, so it spilled over when assembled with the other half? That excessive oil has to go somewhere

Use only the gasket and don't use too much oil! It should just cover the gears and not go higher than this when you fill it up.

What is the gasket?

I too have found my gear diff to leak. Its coming from one of the diff cover screws. Can anyone explain why Xray would include the o-ring in the 1st place? How will the performance of the diff compare with or without the o-ring??
