Hi guys, sorry but you cannot have a discussion over the safety of a 12a charge unless you know the capacity of the battery, and you do not because it hasn’t been stated.
If this new battery has a capacity of 12,000 then that would be a charge rate of1C, which everyone I think would consider to be safe; but if the capacity is 2000 then that would be 6C…..
Also do not forget that safety in terms of charging is not necessarily the same as what is good for the battery in the long term. If the instructions say that the battery can be charged at 12A safely and that 12A will have no negative impact on the battery life then fine; I suspect they say the former but I wonder if they say the latter?
I suggest you charge the pack at 1C and measure the peak temperature of the pack casing and then charge at12A and do the same (unless of course the capacity is 12,000

). Heat = resistance and so if one way is hotter then you are seeing greater resistance and can make you own decision based on what you see.
