 Post subject: What oil on outdrive on gear diff

Hi all, before putting the out drives into the diff, the instructions say to apply some oil. Exactly what oil are they referring to? Can I use the 700cst oil that I'm going to put into the diff?

The oil needs to be over the O-ring etc that the outdrives go though to stop any friction from wearing the O-ring out.
As said, use whatever you are putting into the diff.

I use HUDY black grease on the outdrives. It works as an "anti-wear" grease on alu-to-alu parts just like in the drive couplings.
