This is a question for the xray team. 8)

I'm running a very similar setup to Adrian Bernstan's Norwegian Sorex setup, the only real difference is that I am running the shocks up one position both front and rear.

With sorex tyres I have found this setup works really well even though I have only run it for a couple of races like this - loads of traction but also changes direction very quick and has great corner speed.

In the UK there is quite a big indoor championship that run the sweep exp-qts tire. This has a very low profile sidewall with quite a hard insert so it doesn't really have any air gap, because of this the tire itself doesn't generate the side bite that the sorex tires do.

The problem is that I don't really have the opportunity to test the car with the sweep tires, so really I have to guess on what changes to make to the car.

With this in mind, what would people on here do to Adrian's setup in order to get the car to work well with a very low profile tire?

Thanks

Although not exactly answering your question I tried the EXP-QTS tyres at Newbury (on the T3'12) and found them to be too stable compared with Sorex 28JB's, they understeered quite a lot.
On a higher grip track they would probably be fine.

I run at the event and I will say the car works good on the tires. Setup wise nearly kit but 40 wt asso oil all round shocks laid down 1 all round 1.5 degrees camber all round and 2000 in rear diff. The car is on rails very slight push coming out of the corners but rotates well and carries the speed. At last rug rats I was on for the A all qualli but I made a big mistake in the last round and dropped me in the B. there was some very good drivers too. A couple of people ran graphite wishbones but I had none and ex's shafts up front again I had none. I honestly feel the sweeps have good traction but wear a lot quicker than the speeds which is a shame.

good luck J

When having a working setup for one type of tyre then you can't say something good or bad over other tyres with the same setup as each type of tyre needs a special setup. Probably the biggest difference between tyres is VTEC CPX compared to RIDE. But with the right setup both are great. Also with Sorex it's the same. Note that there's a difference between GM Sorex, Sorex Sorex and Schumacher Sorex as well.
