When I assembled my T4 gear diff the other side where you put the oil is more rougher or has a lot of binding. The gear diff is unassembled. The other half of the gear diff is smooth. The other half after i put the spacer on and assembled the pin, the pin seems to be binding on the spacer. when i pull the pin out halfway it smmothens out. ( but i wont be able to put on the plastic diff). Is this natural for the other side of the diff where you put the oil on to have a binding when you turn it???

Take the shim and pin out put some diff oil over the O-ring etc so, everything has the oil on it before you start.
Then reassemble and see if that make any difference.

Hi skiddins. I did it and its still the same. when i turn it, the pin binds on the metal spacer. The whole pin makes a circle mark around the the metal spacer

Hi,

I had the same problem and it was a wrong drilled hole in the alu diff outdrive. I got them as a replacement for free. The distance between the hole for the pin and the big end was too short.

As well as checking what Green Wing said (measure both outdrives and check they are the same) you could also check the outside of the gear casing molding to make sure there isn't any platic 'flash' or similar protruding where it shouldn't.

Oh no!!! You are right green wing and thanks skiddins.

It really is a factory defect.(wrong drilled hole in the alu shafts) And ive been waiting so long to run the t4 and now who would expect that xray t4 kits has factory defects especially in the gear diff. :(
