Hello everyone. My name is RnR for short and I thought you all here would appreciate this I figure. I had a house fire awhile ago and part of my(actually most) of my RC collection was destroyed. I had 2 XB8's one first edition and then my TQ sitting I swear no further than 4 feet away from each other. I felt that when I got over one not having insurance so I never could replace much.....and two the loss of a lot of high end RC car stuff (2 XB8, M18,M18t,two spectrum transmitters, two mamba coreless, all my huddy drivers...tons of spare parts and stuff....) that I would reflect on what I was spared and maybe give it the love that was on hold.
SO in that I am a oil field well tester, spend a lot of time away from home and in a hotel. Most guys booze it up or chase women...I will save myself some money and hopefully interest any of you with the rebuild here. I belong to a handful of forums but felt it would be appreciated here. The one XB8 was melted into a pile...the cover for this one was shrink wrapped around it and I ripped it off to see if it was salvageable and this thing is being called Rasputin. It is filthy nasty...but I imagine it is still a decent buggy....and getting it to former glory will be a task in itself.
I have with one tool box and the car..
Car High output digital servos...I will get the makes the next post when I post pics
I salvaged in the tool case...extra tires, my setup station..YESSS!!!!!.....my camber and toe in, my shock balancer, digital caliber, my Huddy blocks, my droop gauge.....and some nuts and bolts.....oh..and a starter box moter with no wheel...LMao....why I kept that I don't know!
It is a pleasure to meet you all and hope you enjoy the step by step rebuild of this seemingly fireproof RC...Huddy and Xray are by far the leaders in the industry IMHO...and this exact model I swear to you...no more than 3-4 feet away was a puddle of melted and scorched, aluminum and plastic.......this one however is about to be revealed
