Hi, just a few questions about the T4 compared to the T3 12........

+ Appart from being lower are the the shock positions on the tower the same as the T3 12?

+ Are the body posts all in the same position as the T3 12 so that current bodyshells can be used?

+ The T4 specs say that the roll center clamps are 2mm lower. Does that mean you need to run an additional 2mm shim on the clamps to get the same roll center position as on the T3 12?

Can someone confirm if the basic carpet setup is correct were it tells you to run your front diff in the up position and the rear diff in the down position.

Hello, just to inform you that after my t3 010 & 011, I'm a new owner of T4 :lol:

So, looking your presentation and having a knowledge in Italy of your big job making & drawing the new t4, my feedback is: fantastic!

I will follow too much this topic :D

About the old springs, have you take in consideration for assembly the oldone on the new shock?

The new T4 is a FANTASTIC bit of kit but I was wondering is there any infomation/advice out for the new shocks like to what's in the T3 set up book (holes to thinner/thicker oil) as we cant really go by the T2 & T3 set up books as they use the 1 to 4 hole shock inserts & the T4 uses the new system 3 holes 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 or 4 holes 1.0, 1.1, 1.2

So some help will be most welcome

p.s in the T4 manual it has the wrong numbers for the shock inserts as it says 1.1, 1.2 & 1.3 but not 1.0, 1.1 & 1.2 as comes in the kit

Hi Colin,

great to hear you like the car.

Thanks for letting us know about the mistake, we will fix it.

I use standard 4 holes 1.1 pistons as we recommend in the kit. This is the best compromise of steering and traction. Well in 99% we do not change pistons, only oil. For low traction we recommend 350 shock oil. When the traction increases, you put harder oil. But for example at the ETS last weekend was super high traction and we stayed with the kit shock setting and car was working well. But there is easy recognition when you need harder oil. When you start your run and you make good lap times and in the second half of the run, your car slows down as it is more difficult to drive and start to stop in the corners, than you over-heat the tires and you need harder oil. When you are slower at the beginning because you have not enough traction and you get faster later on, you need softer oil. But in both cases you do not need to change pistons.

i'm taking it that the 1.0 allows A smaller amount of oil to flow through it & the 1.2 allows the oil to flow more freely

Our carpet which is low traction to med at best & i'm using sorex 28's & using the std set up sheet for carpet & car was a little tail happy
so i was wondering which way you! would go oil & hole wise as i have loads of WT but no CST oil
