XRAY - Model racing cars

Hi guys,

I've been running the NT1 for a few months now done two club days and one national, I'm still getting to grips with driving the NT1, it's a great car and I'm really enjoying the car so far.

But every meet I've been to I've struggled to get the car to behave on corner exit, I have to wait until the car has lined up perfectly straight and coasted out of the corner before I apply any power at all, if I try and apply power on the exit of the apex.. forget it, it's going to spin out.

Any ideas?

My setup for the day can be found here it's an '08 NT1 w/ CVD's in the front:

Try a softer front diff. Maybe 150-200 K. Less front droop. Go from 0 to 1 or even 1.5mm front downstop. To raise your front shocks up one hole should help too.

I've just took a look at your setup sheet. Confirm that your chassis is not bent (tweaked). If all is good don't change your droop to a higher setting as that allow for less weight transfer to the rear. Make sure also that the rear is not touching the ground. I noticed the front roll center is low and allowing too much roll. Reduce that first and try again by lowering the front upper arm pivot point. Your condition is weight no being transferred to the rear.

Yeah I fixed it, not quite sure what fixed it really but I have a much more up to date setup sheet here:


This setup is easier to drive for sure.. I think it was the rear roll centre and front/rear shock tower positions that helped the most, although going with 1mm droop in the was a big difference too.

Also went thicker on the rear differential, and set-up the clutch to be less savage out of the corners.
