XRAY - Model racing cars

Hey guys I was curious as to if I can run my Xt8 with the steering servo a little outwards from its position using plastic spacers. The reason I want to do this is because when I have the servo on its normal position and I screw on the steering arm to the lower servo horn position it scratches the aluminium deck. If the plastic spacers are too weak then can you please tell me another way to fit it in?

Use a button head screw and have the nut on the outside (the side facing the body). That's how I run mine and I have zero clearance issues.
