At last year's European Championship in Austria we also faced this problem, because the LRP 30X was used as a controlled tire there. But to be honest there was not a big difference between the shiny and dull ones on the track, actually the biggest difference was psychological.
But still, many people were unsure just like you. The organizer solved this by giving all the A-main drivers the chance to pick out the shiny tires from a box and thus all drivers had the same tires. So if there actually was a difference, and this is a big "if", it would not affect the A-main.
However, you had the right idea by putting the shiny ones in the rear. If I only had one set, I would also do this, just to be sure.
