I have pre-ordered the T3 2012 and I am going to place an order for a set of ECSs and I'm not sure which size to use. I will be installing the Multi-Diff Lipo in the front and I have no clue as to which size to get. The 50mm or 52mm? From my searching in this forum, I have found people stating that you need to use the 50mm when using the Multi-Diff, but, have found no conclusive answer. Is this true or will either of the two fit? If they will both fit, what are the pros and cons of each? I'd appreciate any help that anyone can provide!!

Well, the non-lipo version's product sheet states the following:

"WARNING: When using the #305104 XRAY Multi-Diff™ on EU or US edition cars, only 50mm driveshafts must be used."

BUT that's the older version. The lipo might be different. There are no remarks on the lipo multi diff product page stating 50mm driveshafts must be used.

We need Martin in here!

Thanks for the help WheelNut! I had ran across the limitations for the older Diffs but I didn't see any for the Lipo Diff. I called RCA yesterday and spoke to either Ralph or Brian (can't remember which because I called a few times to check on my order). He said that either should fit fine. There will just be different steering characteristics is all. I specifally asked about the binding and wear issues I've heard about with the older Diff and 52mm ECS and he said that will not be an issue. I appreciate the help from you guys. I'm already glad I switched to Xray just from the community of support so far, as I won't have my car until tomorrow. I'll make sure to post how the 52's work with the Lipo Diff once I find out, so that others with the same question will know...

So means no warning no problem or did they forget to put in the warning?

Based on my business experience you should not think that you know what the other guy meant...

My friend put a Multi-Diff LiPo in his T3'011.
He says that the normal 52mm drive shafts are to long in connection with the Mult-Diff. He recognized this during build and didnt tried to drive it with 52mm.

Maybe one of the Hudy's can really say something to this topic.

I guess you cant believe anybody

I bought the Multi-Diff T3 LiPo for my T3'012 and tried the normal 52mm CVD (not the ECS!).
Suprisingly it works. I have to say that I run 1,5° camber. I didnt try if it works with more.
