I am a bit puzzled at the moment with my car.

I am trying to set my car up with the Sorex BRCA tyres for indoors. It's a t3'11. I am using kit set up with regards to the wheelbase and lower suspension holders. the other set up is as follows:

front droop 6
rear droop 5
rear shock top link - 1 in from inner
front shock link middle

front oil - 40wt schumacher - 3.0 spring
rear oil - 35 wt schumacher - 2.8 spring

rear upright/hub 4mm
front c-hub 2.5mm

front inner link (alloy link) - outer/short with no shim
rear middle - 1mm shim

front camber 1mm
rear camber 2mm

The car just feels like it lacks front steering, and that the back is just not mobile enough. It was like the car was bogging down in the corners, and I was having to brake and throttle my way through corners to get the nose to tuck in.

I am considering a few things:

1. soften oil all round to 30wt, and put 2.4 front and 2.2 rear;
2. make oil heavier all round
3. alter ackerman - if so which way??
4. lengthen the rear upper link
3. lengthen fron upper link

I just feel like I am out of the ball-park at the moment.

I have looked at some team driver set-ups as a possible starting point - Erik Dankels LRP MAsters - , but they all seem to be on different carpet to that used in the UK.

HELP ME OBI WAN KENOBI UR MY ONLY HOPE!!!!!!!!

Answers will also be dependant on how much rear grip you have, as anything to gain steering will eventually start to cause the car to feel loose.

Although not brilliant yesterday at Ardent I did run 0.5mm on front C-Hub's

I would also try some of the following (not all at once)
2.8 front and 2.6 rear springs
1.5deg front camber, 1.5 rear camber
Thicker rear roll bar
Same oil front and rear, try 35w

I also would try the same droop in the front and in the rear. Usually on carpet and with rubber tyres (LRP CPX) I run:

front:

- 500cst, 2 hole pistons, light purple spring
- 0.5° camber, 4° caster
- zero kick-up (central pivot pin holders), zero shims in the front for the track width
- **** anti roll bar
- middle hole for upper shock mounting
- 5mm ride height
- 1mm droop

rear:

- 500cst, 3 hole pistons, light purple spring
- 1.0° camber
- zero kick-up (central pivot pin holders), zero shims in the rear and 1mm shims in the front for the track width, resulting in very low rear toe-in
- **** anti roll bar
- 2nd hole from inside for upper shock mounting
- 5.5mm ride height
- 1mm droop

Everything I didn't mention is kit setup from the T3(R), except for the low profile shock membranes.

That worked well on our well ran carpet as well as on our all new carpet (after it saw some laps on the race line).
