I have never used eny of the shims on my 808, i have had the -08 -09 and now i will get my 2010 in a few days. I had never had eny problem with the diffs what so ever. But of course i will check properly when i get my new -10 model, and if i need to put them in i will do so. |

To confirm What Mario & lotus have posted, it is important to check & shim the diffs. The tolerance is good & will feel tight on first assembly but the diff will move from side to side in the housing creating a small amount of play even when brand new. one shim is normally enough when new & consider the second after a period of use if more play develops. If you descide to ignore the advice the gears will still work but unecessary wear will occur. Bren |
