I've talked to a Danish top driver who uses the 1700 mAh hump packs. He told me, that he uses approximate 800 mAh per hour.

1450 mAh must be enough for at 45 main + warm up and final lap. I'll test it before first race next year

Do you still need to run voltage regulators with these packs?

... and when your servos starts to slow down due to low volt, the volt on your LiFe batteries is not too low. You can’t go that low on LiPo’s, because that will destroy the cells.

What charger do you need to charge LiFe batteries? Will a LiPo charger do and if so would you use the same charge rate as a LiPo?

As the nominal voltage is different your charger has to know how to charge those LiFe batteries. You HAVE TO use LiFe charging program on your charger and you CAN NOT charge using LiPo program!

Most new charger can charge LiFe. I think that during last year or so it would have been hard to get a decent charger that doesn't charge LiFe. Check your charger's manual!

A cheapo charger good enough for Rx And Tx battery charging costs ~50$.

Is it safe to assume the LiFe batts are sized and rated the same as the LiPo? Example: a 2S LiFe is the same as a 2S LiPo?

And, the Turnigy products, are they durable for off-road situations? Going on the philosophy that anything too good to be true usually is. I find it both suspicious and EXTREMELY tempting to purchase this:

1450mah should last longer than 45 mins I would guess, because I run a 1600mah NiMh flat pack that powers two HiTec HS-5645 MG and AMB personal transponder that I run 45 mins before I'm concerned about even charging it again. So I believe with my experience that 800mah is about right for an hours use. So this new LiFe pack should go to an hour and a half of run time with a higher voltage and deliever a more constant voltage before droping off than my NiMh packs if Im doing the math correctly. Is this the correct way to sum this up?
