I personally use the Ofna truggy box (with twin 750 (HUGE) motors) with a Helotes 14.4V 4S lipo. It lasts for 3 race weekends, and my starter box is the community starter box. I don't think we can get Ofna stuff in the UK, unless it goes by another brand name. |

It is the exact same box as the blue SMD one, and the blue Fastrax one. The newer orange SMD one is essentially the same, but has slightly more powerful motors and a new look. |

If you still are not wanting to use a bump box after all these perfectly good reasons, at LEAST try to get yourself a roto-start or some type of drill starter. Using a pull starter on a top-line engine is insane. Unless this engine has already been run-in and has no pinch left. Nothing about this hobby is done successfully without proper and ample preparation, maintenance, and equipment. All other roads lead to increasing frustration and unnecessary expense. (Bandages and ointment for your fingers mostly) The engines listed are all .21 engines. There are also some .28 engines available that can accept a pull start or at least a back plate is sold for those engines to accomodate the likes ot the Tiger Drive, and HPI's roto-start, and etc. But having tried the pull start I can and will tell you the string they use will NOT pull over a fresh, top-notch Nitro engine unless you loosen the plug and heat up the block.....very many times anyway. The first hydro-lock you experience will most likely send you back looking for a bump box of a reasonable quality. |

12V lead acid?! Your box must be 10kg!! All jokes aside... That's the beauty of a lipo battery pack. If you charge it up, unplug it between uses, it will keep its charge as they do not discharge themselves like Pb, NiCd or NiMH cells do. |
