ok , i still use the hudy tool but inside what i made up. i also made a few new bits out of bolts .i drilled holes up the inside of them so that when i push the pin for the first time 3/4 of it is inside the bolt i made this holds it level and keeps the pressures in the right place and stops the pin from splitting .if its real tight a little heat from a blow torch works wonders . then the other bolt i use has a hole in it with the correct dept to push the new pin ..the metal used in the hudy ones is far harder ( i know iv had to drill them to get broken pins out ) the bolts i use do about 25 or so pins then the ends burr so just make new ones ....with the clamp i made full set of pins takes less then 5 mins to change and no need for a 5lb hammer

Here is the cheapskate alternative.. I'm certainly not recommending it over the Hudy tool, but it eventually did the job....

I'm sure also everyone would have a spare socket and a spare flywheel...

Tips if you do use this method....
Grind the very end off the pin your about to get out, so it has a flat end...

Use the vice WITHOUT the flywheel to get the driveshaft pin flush with the end of the drive shaft 'ball'..

Grind down one of the the flywheel pins to about half height - this helps stop the pin bending\snapping

Once the driveshaft pin is flush, use the flywheel pin the push the rest of the way.. (If the pin is crazy tight, you may have to have a really short flywheel pin that only goes 1\2 way through the ball, then use another longer pin the rest of the way)
