Has anyone tried either the BCE or Fioroni chassis for the 808? Haven't heard much on them and would like to hear what you guys have to say about them.

There was a post about the BCE chassis some time ago - might be worth a search.

I've run Bill's stuff on my CRT truggy, which involved a wholesale change in design and running gear, which was then effectively copied by Jammin in developing the X2CRT. The BCE came out a year or more before the X2.

The material quality is always first class and when the $ was good for us in the UK it was a good upgrade for the CRT.

I'm not sure there's been much feedback on the 808 chassis, largely because Bill has always concentrated more on truggies so his stuff is all over the Truggyracers forum - not sure the buggy stuff gets the same coverage? I've got no complaints about the stock Xray chassis to be honest.

I'm not familiar with the Fioroni product, altough I know some people that bought the CRT chassis they do/did and were utterly unimpressed by the durability and excessive flex. That 808 chassis looks to have had a LOT of weight taken out of it, so you may need alloy braces to get the strength back whilst retaining the amount of chassis flex you want/need. On that basis you probably don't save any worthwhile weight so unless you run on a billiard table smooth track with no jumps it's probably not a good thing.

Since you're in the USA I guess there's an economic arguement between the BCE and a stock Xray chassis?

BCE chassis will only flex if more than stock flex was designed into it. Other than that they are as stiff or stiffer than stock depending on what it takes to make the car handle. INO nothing is needed to be changed on the 808 & his site states improved material for rigidity & longer wear. Better than stock? Ihave not tried one & dont know but I am in need of a new chassis,just havent decided what to do about it yet. The actual buying from BCE is the main concern,sometimes turns into a long ordeal.

i have not run either of these two but i can tell you from knowing bill at BCE he takes a lot of pride in how well his equipment performs and lasts. if you are choosing between the two i would no doubt go with the BCE .

however the stock chassis is perfectly fine and the color is better i think

I believe if xray could have cut more out the chassis to make it lighter, they would. How do we know if these cut outs aren't just random?
Has it been stress tested? Does it give the right flex that was designed into the original?
Not enough production and technical info on this advert for me to be honest.
I wonder if there was a report on what it does to the handling. Did they even build an xray up on one of these before saying it's an improvement?
