XRAY - Model racing cars

I have purchased a used XB8 but I cant tell if its a first edition, EC or a TQ. I know it isnt a 808, is there any way I can tell which one it is.

Also which one is the newer edition? the EC or TQ?

The EC is a newer edition compared to the TQ.

As for telling what version it is, the EC has bigger bore shocks compared to the TQ(only 1mm bigger though), plus a few other small changes, i think front shock tower and weight distribution but engine being more rearward on EC compared to TQ.

Easiest way would be to post a picture and im sure someone will let you know what car it is.

Ok well I found out that it is the original XB8. Now the next question what do I do?

Do I keep sinking money into it or do I start looking to upgrade to the 808?

I have a XT8 at the moment as well so some of the parts match the XB8 but I dont think that the 808 and XT8 share any parts.

I am fairly new to racing, I started out with the idea of learning how to drive with a used buggy and I have caught the bug.

Any suggestions?

What should I expect to pay for a 808? Not the 2009 spec.

Why not run it for a season then upgrade and have more knowledge and be a better driver, The XB8 is still a great chassis to drive and parts are still ready available......

I've got a couple of TQ's that I just put 808 shocks on and continue to use. I can't drive worth a d@mn so I can't justify a new buggy yet...well that and my wife would shoot me!!

I'm now the proud owner of a used XT8 as well and it had been upgraded with 808 shocks prior to me getting it. Until I get to where I'm a better driver I think a new truck or buggy would be a waste.
