I've also run the Nosram/LRP 2200mAh for a season now. It has built in balancer (that works!) so you just charge it through the one lead. Fits nicely into Xray radio box with some room for padding. It weighs about 85g. I can recommend it. It even has high quality silicone wires. Last weekend I ran 45-min main final with BLS351/BLS451/FutabaFASST and after the race I could only charge 480mAh into the battey. CC UBEC output 5.9V. For regulator I recommend the Castle Creations UBEC (22$, 4.8-9.0V programmable output, 9g, up to 6S input). To get my car to the 3200g limit I ordered 2-pack of 1000mAh 2S LiPos for 9.90$ from eBay ![]() ![]() 48g LiPo + 9g regulator = 57g 5Cell NiMH = 130g -73g lighter ![]() |

I have used the Apogee packs in both my XT8 and 808 with a MuchMore 6.5V regulator for a month or so and couldn't be happier. These packs are crazy cheap and perform well. -Kane |

[quote="HulkRay"]How do you guys protect your lipo battery from the dirt.. Do you seal the radio box with silicone and it is easy to take off or do you apply electrical tape around the lipo battery???? I put an extra two layers of heat srink around the battery then hold the battery in by foam, I cant wait till some one brings out a hard shell reciver pack with male/female pins and you just push it into place sort of like a camera battery in a cannon 40D..... |

I wrap electrical tape around the LiPo. Few layers of it protects it nicely and its really easy to unwrap the old tape and wrap it again. I also use soft doublesided tape (leave the outer side of tape covered so it doesn't stick) to make it fit nice and tight. |

Should the Voltage regulator be on the outside of the rec box? My understanding it that the regulator gets warm/hot??? THanks Felix |
