Big variation. Probably most cost effective would be RC-Monster.com motor mount and battery box, Castle Creations Mamba Monster 2200 combo and a couple hobbycity.com zippy flightmax 4s 5000mah 30C battery packs. Thats about the lowest cost setup that will run reliably for you in race conditions. Could probably do that for around $600 and be running if you have the roller, radio gear, and servo. Obviously you could spend alot more if you want to, that would get you up and running and competitive. |

Starting at $600 is about right, just remember when buying motor, ESC, and batteries you get what you pay for. Do not forget you need to buy a GOOD charger. |

I currently have two 808 and 1 xb8 and thinking about converting my xb8 to electric by getting the novak combo from amain. However my xb8 is a bit worn down already so I am opting to convert 1 on my 808. Will the XB8 convertion fit the 808 or do i have to get whats posted above. Also is the convertion process easy or will i have to drill holes or something on the chassis? |

I got the Monster RC mount and battery box. I had the screws pull out of the box so I drilled and countersunk 4 screws down from the top and drilled and tapped the chassis for 4 4mm screws. I shoe glued the ESC infront of the battery box on the left side. I would not go with the Novak spend the extra $$ and get the other brushless systems. |

Sorry for being such a newb, When you say depending on the battery voltage you are going to run, is there minimum or maximum? Do you mean there is a specific motor for 4 s battery pack and a 6s? or the 6s motor can handle both packs so if I buy a motor would it necessarily mean i need to buy the highest voltage i can find? |

http://www.impaktrc.com/popup_image.php?pID=3076 You want your motor to ahve the same range as nitro. So with a 4S (14.8 volt) pack you want to run a hight KV motor than with a 6S (22.2 volt) pack. I am running a 6S pack with a 1433KV motor. |

No you will want more KV 6s = 22.2V so 22.2 X 1433 = 31k rpm You want something in teh 30-40k rpm range. I am running a 1900kv setup on 5S, so for a 4S setup I would suggest around 2200-2400kv (2200x14.8=32k rpm). Here is a pic of my layout in my 808: I will probably also use some sort of inserts in my battery mount to keep it secure. |
