XRAY - Model racing cars

Quick question on the droop settings I'm seeing on the few XT8'09 set up sheets I see in the database. They all seem to have very low droop settings in the rear. I looked at Roccos setup sheets and following them the arms are almost level at the 119 or 124mm shock length setting.

Is there a reason that they have such short droop settings? Is there a benfit to running the down travel shortened that much? My first couple times out with mine it had almost full droop set and it seemed to handle great. Around 132mm center to center on the rear shocks. The shorter settings just seem very short to me. The arms are almost level at a 119mm setting.


I had similar settings to what I saw on line here on the fronts.

My truggy at the moment was the prototype version so was fitted with std 808 shocks. I have not yet fitted the new longer shocks but at a guess this is what droops should measure if using top holes on towers & new shocks. Front 112 & Rear 130 when mounted to middle hole on wishbones.
Hopefully that works out to what your needing.

I don't get it, why do you set droop with shock lengths? I just measure it at the wheel axle.

Thanks Bren. These numbers make much more sense to me and seem in the ballpark for what I was seeing.

Is there a "XT8"09 Standard Setup Sheet" available? The one that came with mine was for the old truggy. I just used the setup I found that I liked on my old XT8 and started from there. Its not far off, but I do need to do some adjustment. Id like to see what the standard factory recomended starting setup would be though.
