Hmmmm thats crazy, I went the exact opposite direction with my pistons. I drilled one hole out of a 1.3 piston and screwed a small grub screw into that hole. I used 25 WT Losi oil with this combo in the rear. This increased the initial "pack", but steadied the rebound so the car wasn't so bouncy. Our local tracks is huge, and a total motocross style track with big big jumps. The jumps were beating my buggy to death, so the increase in initial "pack" helped solve that, and now the car sticks on landings much better. This allows me to get setup for turns after big jumps much quicker, because I'm not waiting for the car to settle after landing.
Also, I noticed coming out of corners the buggy doesn't squat so quickly causing the front end to push. With this setup my car makes a nice smooth arc in the corners, even when blipped a little.
I raced yesterday and was able to qualify on the same lap with Drake about 16 seconds behind, so this setup is one step closer to perfect..
Motor issues ruined my A Main but the car felt awesome!
Try plugging a set of 1.3's in the back and see if you like it as I did.
