i have a mechanical rear brake mixed on the third channel with electric brake from the motor. i can adj brake bias on the run with the third channel.

i used a hitec wing servo with an xb8 steering brace and a post from (spare parts bin) think it was a center diff part from a lsp?

Very nice, Looks good. I really like your out of the box thinking on the servo mount and small servo. You dont really need thet much power in the servo when its running only one side of the brakes and isnt hooked to a throttle spring.

Here is a couple pics of my mechanical brake setup I am running on my XT8 conversion. I had an almost identical setup on my 808 at one time but didnt really find much benefit from the available bias on the buggy. I tend to drive smoother corner lines and use the amazing off power steering the 808 has so the available bias didnt really help me so I ditched it in favor of the simple motor brake which works great for me on the buggy. On the XT8 truggy, because it doesnt quite turn a tight as the 808, I really like having the mechanical brake vs the motor brake.

Anyway, this is what I came up with. It works quite well. I am using a mini servo that can deleiver 96oz of torque and running full front and rear mechanicals. The motor braking is completely disabled in the speed control. Loving the setup and have raced it this way the better part of the season.

you know by running mechanical brakes we are sacrificing run time. electric brake puts juice back in to the battery under braking.LOL

Do your brake pads (Ferrodo) on the 808 swell up when they are wet? Mine seem to, just wondered if you suffered the same hope they dry in time for Sunday routine in this love English climate
