Post subject: | Best replacement bearings for OS Speed?? |
I know this is a little off topic, but can anyone recommend a good brand of replacement bearings for my OS Speed? I love the performance of the engine, but the rear is just starting to be a little 'not smooth' so am thinking of getting it replaced before it causes any damage. Ideally ceramic. I know of TKO and Boca, but does anyone have any experience of either of these brands? Or can recommend any others Also, does anyone know of where to get hold of some in the UK? |

Anything BUT ceramic. The bearings perform well (most noticeably in onroad) but aren't great for offroad, they take too much load and don't last long at all with all the jumps. Get a really high quality steel bearing and never worry about your motor bearings again. Ceramics are the worst bearings you could put anywhere in your car. |

You reckon rocco? I wouldn't dream of putting ceramics anywhere else on my car, but surely in a highly tolerance'd engine it's not going to be affected by dirt etc, and many people argue they let an engine rev higher? I guess there are many 1000's of engines that don't use them that work perfectly well! Can you or anyone else recommend some decent quality steel bearings then, or share their thoughts on ceramics in engines? |

I'm with Rocco, steel bearings definitely last longer. Cheers |
