A weekend of sun and fun turned into a demonstration of Xray domination as the Frankley Club held an open meeting combined with truggy warm up. A clean sweep of the podium and TQ in the buggy class just showed the improvement in the Clubmans class when drivers get hold of the new 808. With Factory Team driver Kevin Brunsdon fighting it out with leading Hobao runner Jon Howells in qualifying and Kevin eventually taking a well earned TQ. This left another 4 Xray runners to fight over the remaining podium places when Jons Hobao limped out of the race after 10 mins into the 30 minute A Final. An unlucky cut when a marshall caught the flywheel was the only thing stopping an Xray 808 top 5...........top 4 was good enough in my opinion. |

For what comes on that car it seems like a good price to me at $900. I still have my eye on it and will likely give it a try. I need to watch the user reports about it to make my choice. So far I am not liking some of the 808 things I read. Just read about the warped arms tonight and was not happy to add that to the list of issues I have read about. I do agree that the Xray price seems good but if you add in the upgrades to make it look like the MP9 kit I dont think you are very far off in price. As a matter of fact as some have suggested about a pro kit I am sure it would push right up to $900 for the 808. You guys have to admit that the EC did not stir up nearly as many threads about issues as the 808 is. I understand it is a first year run so that is to be expected but my EC is bomb proof and I rarely read any issues about it other then the junky shocks. Ps I am reading it will be $750 so for that price it would be hard to beat based on what it appears to come like stock. |
