Post subject: | When will the XRAY 808 backorder situation be corrected? |
Hello. I'm am a US XRAY dealer and we received a shipment of XRAY 808 kits from RC America on Monday. The kits arrived about a month late and we received less than half of the kits we had on backorder. We spoke with RC America and they said they don't expect to receive another 808 shipment for 1.5 months. What short and long term steps are being taken to correct the backorder problem? Demand far exceeds supply and we see this with other kits as well. What happens if the XRAY 808 wins at the IFMAR 1/8th Worlds in Charlotte, NC in September? Would XRAY be able to meet the increased demand? Thank you for any information you can provide on this problem. |

I think it would be awesome if Xray or RCAMERICA open an east coast distribution center. European shores are closer to New Jersey Ports and it would cut costs in shipping across the pond. It would also be a plus if they opened an indoor track for year round racing since we get snowed in during the winter season. Then again I'm the kinda guy that has his heads in the clouds. ![]() |

Richmond - We fly the orders in so I don't think there would be a large benefit with an Eastern distribution area. As far as the B/O situation goes, that's going to be out of our control as we just a distributor. We try to evenly distribute the kits we do get in according to when the orders were placed, as well as spread the kits out as widely as possible. I don't know where anybody heard middle of August from?! I do, however, recall talking on the phone with a dealer that kept assuming/pressing the delivery date was the middle of August while I maintained that we get a small amount of buggies on every order, which arrive pretty much every 3 weeks, so that would put another small batch in closer to the middle of July..... As far as parts support goes, I cannot speak for other distributors or the manufacturer, but we have had and sold/are selling all of the stock parts on the 808, and have almost all of the consumables in stock, it is just up to the dealers to stock them for their customers. I know of a few cases (UndergroundRC) whose dealers hardly carry or order parts for their customers, then put it on us that we don't have the item in stock when they haven't even ordered the parts. We can only do so much to get these parts in the shops, I just ask for you guys running the kits to be patient, not give up and stay proactive in getting your local dealers to stock the parts for you. |

A little wishful thinking doesn't hurt. I just wish they had an indoor track out here. You Texas boys are lucky to race the whole year. |

Thanks for clearing that up a bit Rocco... My (friendly but somewhat stubborn) dealer recently got a small Xray order into the shop, and THEY EVEN HAVE A KIT!! Nice. I'm happy they are starting to listen to us about how the buggy performs, and how it just needs a little support in the shops. Of course this after I rocked the podium in the expert A-main a couple times!! ![]() ![]() |
