who balances their tires? and how?
my crimefighter premounts are unbelievablly oout of balance. never glued up a set myself thet were this bad. like the foam only goes half way around lool.

I use a lawn mower blade balancer and it works great.

I use the modified prop balancer, just buy the standard prop one and make your own base so that the wider truggy wheels fit easily, We race mainly on the grass so use proline mulchers, one tire needed 10 grams about 1/2 an oz of weight added to one side of the wheel so they can be way off balance. I use fishing line lead shot and silastik to glue the lead to the rim, wheels now spin smoothly with little vibrations

Balancing is really important in my opinion too. And the balance changes because the insert moves I think. So whenever I have some time (not often ) between heats or finals I re-balance the tires. It gives you better performance and out of balance tires make crazy vibration to whole car.

Out of 4 Proline Crimefighter LPR premounts I had one VERY BAD and one was a bit better. The bad one needed about 15-20g

I would never use metal to balance the wheels. Think about what happens if it flys off I use ordinary modeling clay ie PlayDoh and secure it with a little glue.

Put the wheel hex on it and balance the wheel between your fingers. Easy and takes no room from the toolbox.

The GRP truggy premounts are awesome. I bought a set of the Grips and they took very little clay to zero out.

(could manualy rotate the tire on the spindle, let go, and the tire/wheel wouldnt move from that spot)
