Im trying to install the flywheel on to my engine but when i snugg it down it dont want to turn over smooth anymore.Im only snugging it allittle. |

Is the brass collet touching the front bearing? It should only touch the inner race of the bearing and nothing else. When you say it wont turn over are you saying you cant cycle the piston to TDC by hand turning the flywheel? Try and explain this a bit more and I bet we can help. |

Im not turning the motor all the way over it is a brand new novarossi p5xs.What im talking about is the crank turns smooth without the flywheel im talking down around bdc ya know just like a half turn or so but when I put the flywheel on, it dont turn as free as it was before still down around bdc like the flywheel is to tight.Also its not touching the front of the engine. |

you must have shims touching the front bearing seal. This seal does not rotate like wheel bearings do. |

Seen this happen on O.S. Speed engine's. Rear bearing not quite seated all the way from factory. When the flywheel nut is tightened it binds the bearing a little. not saying thats what it is but if its new and you checked all the other typical things you might want to check! |
