Post subject: | XB8EC Electric Conversion Kit COMING SOON |
XB8EC Owners, Dont sell that buggy just yet. As many of you know the 1/8 scale electric scene is catching on fast. There are many manufacturers that are making parts, electronics, and even purpose built platforms to become what we will soon realize as the 1/8 Scale Electric Buggy, Truggy. During the winter months and even summer, this will soon be the solution to nitro fumes and smoke. My XB8EC is currently being measured and used to design the best conversion kit available on the market. No I dont work for the company, but I was so impressed with the design I wanted to be part of the early beginnings of the XRAY Electric Buggy Wave. Here is a photo of the Losi 8ight kit that is currently available but a Xray kit is being designed and produced as I type this. IF you like the design and are interested in the date of release and how to get your hands on this conversion, email Dan at Dan@rcproductdesigns.com or visit his website, rcproductdesigns.com If you email Dan make sure to refer to this post and the interest you have regarding this conversion. There will components available to complete this kit at Castle Creations Website the website address is: http://www.castlecreations.com/products ... nster.html You will find that there is almost everything needed in one place to make your conversion complete. Thank You, Rob Knasel |

I love seeing the electric products coming to market, and I agree... The electric 1/8 will be the next boom in RC. I have been running the RC-Monster.com Xray brushless conversion on my EC for 6 months or so now. Its basically the same as the one you posted with the motor mount, but comes with the top plate for the servo and its annoed black w/silver chamfer to match the Xray aluminum parts. The RC-Monster battery tray is not a slick looking as the one you posted, but it is able to be positioned anywhere forward and back on the chassis so you can achieve the balance that you want based on the size and weight of the battery you choose to use. I'm loving the Xray as electric, and the 808 on its way to me now will be my next gen electric 1/8 by Sunday. ![]() You can check out the parts I used here. http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail.ph ... mxraymount http://www.rc-monster.com/proddetail.ph ... atterytray And heres a couple quick pics of my Electirfied EC. (Aslo known as the EEC) ![]() |

You will need: *Motor: Low end Feigao motor $80 High end Neu/Lehner/Hacker motor $240-340 *ESC- Get Mamba Monster. $170. Its shipping this week to distributors so you should be able to get it as soon as next week in stores. If this thing is half of what its billed as being it should be the shiznizzel. If you want to many are running on the Mamba Max now though, but the Monster Max is made for this size truck and will be much better. *Lipo battery - $150 to $250 depending on size and dischrge capability. *RC-Monster.com motor mount, servo tray, chassis brace and battery tray - around $100 combined. It'll cost you around $700 to do a nice setup with a quality motor and battery. Sounds expensive, but if you look at what a high end nitro motor, throtle servo and fuel will cost you for a year, its not really that bad. If you want more info, PM me and I'll point you in the right direction. Ive been doing these conversions for quite a while now and can tell you what works and doesnt work. Heres a picture of my XT8 |

(10000 in center dif) 20 minutes run time. when i get bored inbetween heats cause there is nothing to tune I eat hotdogs.LOL just got my 808 and mike (rc monster) is making a specific mount for it as we speak. LOL.... Mikes making one of those mounts for me too. I just couldnt wait so I set my 808 up with a spare EC center diff mount to get it running. The EC has been retired to backup/bashing duty. Do you race with Mike at the barn? I was out there last year for his event there. Great track. My 808. Just finished it Sunday. Dying to get some track time with it. |

I have another EC set up as electric with servo braking. It does feel a little better, but in all honesty it desnt really make much difference on the track to me. Could just be my skill level, but I wondered the same thing so I one up to test. Its not worth the exra weight and complication from what I've seen. As long as you set the EPA on the motor brake to get right the amount it tracks straight on hard braking. If you start locking up the tires it can get a little squirly. I never was one of those guys who locked up the rear and slid around the corner anyway so I never really missed the bias. In reality its a trade off. With the electric I can come out of the corner and get down the straight faster, but probably do start braking a little earlier than the typical nitro. But the acceleration more than makes up for it. |

for one it saves battery power. on a TIGHT track that is dusty with 180 turns when the car will just push having a "parking brake" makes all the difference. last sunday on a large outdoor track i saw no reason to have it. so it depends on the conditions i guess. |
